Frisk dies to asgore and it turns out that the 7 human souls was not strong enough to break the barrier (stretching far from canon here) so the underground falls into a state of depression, the monsters grow such a hatred for humans that they turn into LITERAL monsters hellbent on killing humans, and sometimes each other
